TART LEMON COOKIES 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 c. soft butter
2 tsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. grated lemon peel

Cut butter into flour, sugar, and soda. Add milk, vanilla and lemon peel. Mix well. Form into a ball. Knead until pliant. Roll to 7x2x1 inches. Wrap in wax paper. Chill 1 hour. Slice 1/8 inch thick. Place on buttered cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes at 375 degrees. Do not brown.
