FISH FILLETS PIQUANT | |
1 lb. fish fillets, any kind 1 tbsp. salt, or less if desired 1 c. mayonnaise 1/2 c. minced onion 1 c. Sauterne or other white dinner wine 3 slices dry bread, finely crumbled 1/2 c. sour cream Mix wine and salt. Marinate fish fillets in this mixture for two hours, turning several times. Drain thoroughly on paper towel. Arrange fish side by side in greased, shallow baking dish. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream and onion together. Spread evenly over fish. Cover with layer of bread crumbs. Bake in hot oven of 500 degrees for 15 minutes or until fish flakes when tested with fork. Serve with lemon wedge. If crumbs are browning too fast, lay a sheet of foil loosely over top. |
