HOBO BREAD 
1 c. strong hot coffee
2 c. raisins
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 egg (beaten)
1 c. chopped nuts
2 tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

In large mixing bowl, pour coffee over raisins and baking soda. Cool. In separate bowl, combine sugar, egg, nuts, butter, flour and vanilla. Mix well. Add to coffee mixture and mix well. Grease or spray tin cans and pour batter into 3 or 4 cans (depending on size) and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and push loaves through by opening bottom of can. Can be kept for several days. Very good. Improves with age!
