2 c. sugar
2 rounding tbsp. Crisco
2 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
2 level tsp. baking soda (this is put into buttermilk & set aside a few minutes)
2 c. flour
2 rounding tbsp. cocoa in flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 level tsp. salt

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes in 9 x 13 inch pan.
