1 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
1/2 c. raisins
3 apples

Peel and slice apples. Mix first 8 ingredients. Add apples, nuts and raisins. Pour into greased and floured 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
