CRANBERRY COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. milk
1 egg
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. mixed diced candied fruit
1 tbsp. grated orange peel
2 1/2 c. fresh cranberries, coarsely chopped

Cream butter, sugars and vanilla together. Beat in milk and egg. Mix and sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in candied fruit, orange peel and cranberries. For each cookie, mound 2 level tablespoons on well greased cookie sheet. Space mounds about 2" apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen at 3" in diameter.
