FRESH COCONUT POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 stick butter
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1 c. fresh coconut

Cream sugar, Crisco and butter. Sift together dry ingredients and add alternately with milk to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add eggs one at a time. Add flavorings and fresh coconut. Pour into greased floured tube pan. Bake in 350 degrees preheated oven for 1 hour 20 minutes. Do not open oven while baking.
