OLD FASHIONED REFRIGERATOR ROLLS | |
2 sticks butter (or 1 c. vegetable shortening) 2 1/2 c. warm water 3/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 3 eggs, beaten in yeast water 2 cakes (2 tbsp.) yeast 7 c. flour Dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar, salt and melted butter (or shortening). Beat eggs with an electric beater into the yeast mixture. Add flour until easily to handle. Grease, generously, a large bowl with oil. Turn dough over in a bowl so as to grease both sides. Cover and refrigerate until ready to bake. Roll out and cut into rolls. Let rise until double in size. Bake in hot oven (425 degrees) for 20-25 minutes or until done. Makes about 4 dozen rolls. |
