CHICKEN VERMICELLI | |
3-4 lbs. fryer or chicken parts 1/2 lb. vermicelli 2 pkgs. chopped broccoli 3/4 lb. Velveeta cheese 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1/2 c. milk 1 c. chicken broth Season chicken and stew until tender. Bone and cut up into pieces. Remove 1 cup of broth and cook the vermicelli in the remaining broth. Cook broccoli and place in baking dish. Combine soup, milk, 1 cup of broth and cheese and allow to melt over low heat. Pour about 1/3 of cheese sauce over broccoli. Then layer as follows: vermicelli, salt and pepper, 1/3 cheese sauce, chicken. Last should be 1/3 cheese sauce. Top with buttered crumbs. Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 10. |
