QUAKERTOWN CRUMB PIE 
BOTTOM PART:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla

TOP PART:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Combine ingredients for bottom part and cook until thickened. Combine flour and baking soda for top part. Add sugar and shortening. Pour bottom mix into an unbaked crust. Sprinkle crumbs over top. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. Makes 1 (9 inch) pie.
