COCONUT, MERINGUE, CHOCOLATE
CHIP BARS
 
BASE:

3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
3 egg yolks (save whites)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Pat in pan, layer on 1 package chocolate chips, 1 cup coconut and 3/4 cup nuts. Beat egg whites until frothy. Add 1 cup brown sugar, beat until stiff, put on layered ingredients. Seal with brown sugar meringue above. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes in large cake pan.
