BLONDE BROWNIES 
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/3 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 tbsp. hot water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chocolate chips

Melt 1/3 cup butter in a saucepan. Remove from heat. Add to melted butter the brown sugar and mix well with a spoon. Add 1 tablespoon hot water and 1 egg. Beat until well mixed together and mixture is smooth. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and stir into mixture. Combine all dry ingredients together in flour sifter. Add this mixture into batter. Pour into 8 x 8 inch pan that has been greased and floured. Sprinkle 1/2 cup chocolate chips over top. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until done. Hint: 1/2 cup chopped nuts may be added to above mixture before baking.
