BEEF CARBONARA 
2 pkgs. stew meat
1 lg. yellow onion
3 or 4 lg. cloves garlic (or more if you wish)
Olive oil
1 can beef consomme
1 can beer, room temp. (non alcoholic is fine too)
1 or 2 bay leaves (more if you wish)
3 or 4 handfuls of lentils (be sure to clean them of stones first)

Saute onions and garlic in olive oil in a pot. Brown beef in oil in a separate pot and drain excess fat. Add meat, consomme and beer and cook for 10-15 minutes. Add lentils and bay leaves. Cook over low/medium heat, stirring frequently 2-3 hours. Serve over noodles, rice, or couscous.
