NANA'S SAUERKRAUT 
1 lg. jar sauerkraut
1 sm. can tomato paste
2 cans water
1/4 tsp. paprika
1 tbsp. sweet basil
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Salt and pepper

Place sauerkraut in colander, rinse and drain very well. Cover bottom of pan with oil, add sauerkraut to hot oil. Sprinkle with paprika, basil, sugar and garlic powder. Add tomato paste and saute for a few minute. Add water, salt and pepper to taste. Let simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
