CABBAGE CHOW CHOW 
2 gallon cabbage, chopped fine
12 onions, chopped
6 lg. bell peppers
3/4 c. salt

MIXTURE:

10 c. (5 lbs.) sugar
2 qts. vinegar
1 tbsp. ground turmeric
1 tbsp. celery seed
1 tsp. cloves, ground

After the cabbage, onions and peppers have been chopped fine, mix real well with salt. Weight it down and let stand for 3 hours. Drain off liquid.

Combine the mixture ingredients and add to the cabbage, onions and peppers. Bring to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. Pack in sterilized jars and seal.
