1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. cold water
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 c. rolled oats
1 c. flaked coconut
1 c. colored gumdrops, chopped

Cream shortening and sugars together. Beat the eggs; add vanilla and the soda disolved in the water. Combine egg mixture with the shortening and sugars. Sift flour with the baking powder and salt and stir into the creamed mixture. Add remaining ingredients. Shape into small balls, place on well- greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Dredge with confectioners sugar. Makes 120.
