BEST COOKIE EVER 
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 1/2 c. plain uncooked oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 bag (12 oz.) chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) Hershey bar, grated
1 1/2 c. nuts, chopped (almonds, walnuts or pecans)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together butter, sugar and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla extract. Mix in flour, oatmeal, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Add remaining ingredients and mix together.

Roll dough into small balls (no larger than a ping pong ball size) and place about 2 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake for 6 minutes, 7 at most. Yields approximately 5 dozen cookies.
