BROWN SUGAR ICEBOX COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. walnuts

1. Cream shortening and sugar together.

2. Add eggs.

3. Stir in sifted dry ingredients, then vanilla and walnuts.

4. Form dough into 2 "logs", wrap and chill at least 2 hours.

5. Slice dough into 1/4 inch slices and bake on a cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
