GRANDMA'S CHRISTMAS PUDDING | |
1 c. seedless raisins 1 c. granulated sugar 1 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tbsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tbsp. melted butter 1 c. peeled raw carrots 1 c. peeled raw potatoes Rinse and drain raisins. Sift together flour, salt, sugar and spices. Grind up potatoes and carrots. Add butter and stir into dry mixture. Also add raisins. Turn into a greased 1 quart can or mold. Cover and steam for 3 hours. When done turn onto a heat proof dish and bake in oven at 350 degrees for 10 minutes to dry out. Serve with Hard Sauce. |
