GRAPE NUTS SOUTHERN PIE 
1/2 c. Grape-Nuts
1/2 c. warm water
1 c. light brown sugar
1 c. dark corn syrup (I use 1/2 white)
1 c. or less butter
1/8 tsp. salt
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix cereal and water. Let stand until water is absorbed.

Combine sugar, syrup, butter and salt. Bring to boil over high heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Add small amount to eggs, beating well. Add rest of syrup, and mix well. Stir in softened cereal, nuts and vanilla. Bake at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until filling is puffed up across top.
