ICE BOX PICKLES 
4 c. sugar
4 c. white vinegar
1/4 c. salt
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
1 1/2 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 tsp. turmeric

Slice 1 or 2 large onions and pack in bottom of jars. Slice cucumber thin and pack in tightly. Combine sugar and vinegar in saucepan until melted; do not boil. Pour over your cucumbers and refrigerate. Ready to eat in 12-24 hours.
