CANNED DILL PICKLES 
3 qts. water
1 qt. white vinegar
1 c. salt
2 tsp. turmeric
1/8 tsp. alum
Cloves of garlic, cut into slices
Fresh dill tops

Boil hard 3 minutes the water, vinegar and salt. Add turmeric. To each jar add 1 sliced garlic and 1/8 teaspoon alum. Put dill tops in as you put in thin slices of cucumber or small or whole ones. Pour hot liquid over and seal.
