GRANNY'S PRUNE CAKE 
2 c. mashed prunes, cooked
2 c. sugar
1 c. prune juice (from cooked prunes)
4 eggs
2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. melted butter

Sift dry ingredients together. Mix all ingredients in large bowl and beat until smooth. Makes 3 layers. Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes or until firm.

FROSTING:

1/2 c. butter
Dash salt
1 lb. 4X powdered sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and salt. Add part of sugar, blending after each addition until smooth and creamy. Blend in vanilla. Spread icing between layers and outside of cake.
