PEANUT BUTTER FRENCH TOAST WITH
SPICY APPLESAUCE
 
Peanut butter
Jelly
8 slices firm type white bread
4 eggs, beaten
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
Confectioners' sugar
Applesauce with cinnamon to taste

Make four peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Combine eggs, milk, vanilla and salt in 9x13x2 inch baking dish. Soak sandwiches in egg mixture, turning occasionally, with spatula until all liquid is absorbed, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Heat butter in skillet until sizzling and fry sandwiches 5 minutes on each side or until well browned. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve with warm applesauce.
