FRUITCAKE COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 1/2 c. flour
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 (8 oz.) pkgs. dates, chopped
3 c. pecans, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. candied pineapple, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. candied cherries, chopped

Cream butter; add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well. Combine flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by spoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 13 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on cookie sheets for 1 minute, remove to wire rack and cool completely. Yield 7 dozen.
