LEMON CREAM PIE 
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. milk
3 1/2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Combine 1/2 cup sugar and egg yolks. Add flour combined with remaining sugar and salt. Pour into hot milk and cook until it beings to thicken. Add lemon juice and some grated lemon peel and cook 1 minute more after it reaches boiling point. Stir.

Remove from heat and add butter. Pour into baked pie shell. Cover with topping, made with 2 egg whites, 2 tablespoons sugar and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar.
