CANDIED APPLES 
2 c. sugar
2/3 c. light Karo syrup
1 c. water
Few grains salt
Apples, washed

Stir constantly until mixture boils. Cook without stirring to 300 degrees using a low setting after 280 degrees. Flavor with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and red food coloring. Take away from burner after reaching 300 degrees.
