BLACK MAGIC CAKE AND BUTTERCREAM FROSTING | |
1 3/4 c. flour 2 c. sugar 3/4 c. cocoa 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1 c. strong brewed coffee 1 c. buttermilk 1/2 c. vegetable oil 1 tsp. vanilla Mix all ingredients on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour into well greased and floured 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool completely. ICING: 1 c. butter 1 c. shortening (solid) 2 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. salt 1 (9 1/2 c.) bag powdered sugar 1/3-1/2 c. milk Thoroughly mix butter, shortening, vanilla, salt. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk as needed for consistency. Whip 2-3 minutes. (Decorator icing). |
