PUMPKIN FIG LOAF 
3 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. butter, room temp.
4 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 1/2 tsp. orange peel
2/3 c. orange juice
1 c. snipped dried figs
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
1 c. chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, baking soda and baking powder and salt. In large bowl beat butter, sugar, eggs, pumpkin pie spice, orange peel. Blend well. Turn mixer on slow and beat pumpkin, orange juice and flour mixture. Add figs, nuts and mix until blended. Put this in 2 (8" x 3 3/4") foil lined loaf pans. Bake 1 hour and 10 minutes or until pick is clean. Cool on racks. Makes 2 loaves.
