HARD CANDY 
2 c. granulated sugar
2/3 c. light corn syrup
3/4 c. water
1 tsp. flavor
Food coloring (optional)
Powdered sugar

1. Cook sugar, water and corn syrup until candy thermometer reaches hard crack stage, 310 degrees (takes about 35 minutes).

2. When it reaches 310 degrees, remove from heat. Add flavoring and coloring (optional); then stir.

3. Pour into buttered cookie sheet. Let cover then crack into pieces.

4. Shake candy in bag with powdered sugar. (Enough just to lightly coat the candy.) Store in airtight container.
