BOB'S SLOPPY JOES | |
4-6 hamburger rolls 1 lb. ground turkey or ground beef 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 tsp. sugar 1/2 cup tomato sauce 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce or A-1 sauce 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar 3/4 tsp. onion powder Preheat oven to 350°F. Wrap rolls in foil, bake 15 minutes or until warm. In large nonstick skillet, cook ground turkey or beef 4-5 minutes until no longer pink. Drain off fat if desired. Stir in pepper, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and tomato sauce. Bring liquid just to a boil. Reduce heat to low; simmer covered, stirring frequently, 5 minutes or until thickened. Stir in vinegar. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary Optional: Add 1/2 cup sautéed chopped onions. For more spicy families, add 1/4 tsp. hot red pepper sauce to taste. Spoon onto warmed rolls. Enjoy! You'll need lots of napkins!! |
