GOOD OATMEAL COOKIES 
2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick cooking oats
Powdered sugar
About 72 pecan halves

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs. Add vanilla, flour, salt, soda and oats. Mix well. Roll into walnut sized balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Press pecan halves on each cookie. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
