EASY BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
4 qt. cucumbers, thinly sliced
1/3 c. salt
1/2 tsp. turmeric
1 1/2 tbsp. mustard seed
1 1/2 qt. onions, thinly sliced
3 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
3 c. vinegar

Measure cucumbers after slicing to make 4 quarts. Sprinkle 1/3 cup of salt over cucumbers. Cover with ice cubes and let stand covered for 3 hours. Drain well. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Seal in hot, sterilized jars. Refrigerate before serving for best flavor.
