RICE CRISPIE CRUNCHIES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. crisp rice cereal

Cream butter and sugar, blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour, sifted with baking powder and salt; mix well. Stir in cereal. Place rounded teaspoons of dough on greased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
