BETTY SCHEEL'S PERSIMMON COOKIES 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 c. persimmon pulp
1 egg
2 c. flour sifted with 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 tsp. cloves, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins mixed with flour mixture
1 c. nutmeats

Cream sugar and shortening, add egg and pulp. Add flour mixture, raisins and nuts. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for about 12 minutes.
