CHOCOLATE OATMEAL COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 egg
2 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. rolled oats

In large bowl of mixer, cream butter, sugar, and cocoa until light. Beat in egg, water, and vanilla until fluffy. Gradually stir in flour, salt, baking powder and soda. Stir in oats. Drop level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 13-16 minutes or until top springs back when pressed lightly with fingers. Cool on rack. Makes about 40.
