CHICKEN PAPRIKAS AND DUMPLINGS 
1 onion, chopped
1/4 c. shortening
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. paprika
1 tsp. black pepper
4 - 5 lbs. chicken
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 pt. light cream (optional)

Brown onion in shortening, mix in seasonings; add chicken and brow 10 minutes. Add water; cover and simmer slowly until tender (1 hour to 1 1/2 hours). Remove chicken; add sour cream to drippings in pan and mix well. If more gravy is desired, add the light cream. Add dumplings.

DUMPLINGS:

3 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. water
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. salt

Blend ingredients together, adding more flour if necessary to make stiff batter. Drop by teaspoons into boiling salted water. Cook 10 minutes; rinse with cold water; drain.
