BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLE 
6 qts. sliced med. cucumbers
6 med. sliced onions
1 c. salt
1 1/2 qts. vinegar
6 c. sugar
1/3 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 c. mustard seeds
1 tbsp. celery seeds

Mix salt in enough water to cover the cucumbers. Let cucumbers stand in salt and water for three hours. After three hours rinse cucumbers in cold water. Combine all the seasoning and vinegar in large pot and bring to boil. Add cucumbers and onions then heat to simmer. Do not boil cucumber and onion. Pack while hot and seal immediately.
