1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco or butter
2 eggs

Cream then add: 1 c. buttermilk or sour milk 3 1/2 c. unsifted flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. salt

Mix. Add to above in thirds. Don't stir more than necessary. Drop by spoon on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Ice or decorate as necessary.
