WHITE CHOCOLATE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
10 oz. white chocolate, coarsely chopped
1/2 c. coarsely chopped macadamia nuts, lightly toasted

In large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening. Add sugars. Beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, mix well. Combine flour, soda, salt. Add to cream mixture. Blend in vanilla. Stir in chocolate and nuts. Cover and chill dough for 1 hour. Drop by heaping tablespoons about 3 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes or until lightly brown. Let stand a few minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Yields about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
