CHERRY COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar

2 eggs
2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla

Blend in sifted dry ingredients and mix well.

1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Mix well. Shape into balls using 1 level tablespoon for each cookie. Crush 2 1/2 cups corn flakes and roll each ball of dough in corn flakes. Place on greased cookie sheet and top each with 1/4 cherry. Bake at 375 degrees. Do not stack until cold.
