GRANDMA'S FEATHER ROLLS | |
1/2 c. Crisco 1/3 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. hot milk 3 eggs, beaten 2 envelopes dry yeast 1/2 c. lukewarm water 1 tbsp. sugar 4-5 c. flour Melt shortening in the hot milk; add sugar and salt. When lukewarm, add beaten eggs and yeast which has been dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water. Add 1 tablespoon sugar, flour and knead until smooth. Let rise about 1 hour. Punch down, knead 10 more times. Shape into rolls, let rise again about 20 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until golden brown. |
