SPARKLE COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour
1 egg
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla. Beat in the egg. Sift together the dry ingredients. Gradually stir in the creamed mixture. Mix well. Chill for 1 hour. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness. After cutting out desired shapes, bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
