CREAM OF GARLIC SOUP 
3/4 c. ham, cubed
10 cloves garlic, peeled and halved
2 tbsp. butter
6 c. chicken broth
1 c. half and half
1 medium onion, chopped
2 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/4 c. olive oil
1 c. whipping cream
salt and pepper to taste

In large pot, combine ham, onion, garlic and potatoes. Add butter and oil. Sauté until onions are tender and potatoes are cooked. Add chicken broth. Puree in small batches and return to pot. Blend in cream and half and half. Heat through but do not boil. Season with salt and pepper.

Serves 6.
