CHERRY BREAD 
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten
2 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. cherry juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
16 maraschino cherries, cut up

Cream sugar and shortening. Add beaten eggs. Sift together flour and baking powder. Mix milk, cherry juice and vanilla. Slowly mix liquid mixture with dry mixture. Add cherries and nuts. Place in 1 large greased loaf pan or 2 small greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
