SUGARLESS FRUIT BARS 
1 c. water
1 c. raisins
2 apples, peeled & chopped
1/4 c. shortening
2 tbsp. liquid sweetener
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. black walnut flavoring or 1/2 c. nutmeats
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine water, raisins, apples, shortening, sweetener, cinnamon and nutmeg. Boil 3 minutes. Cool. Beat egg; add vanilla flavoring and nutmeats. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir the 2 mixtures together. Spread in a 9"x9" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Yield: 25 bars.
