SWEDISH RYE BREAD 
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. boiling water
2/3 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. salt
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. anise seed and grated orange rind
4 c. rye flour
8 to 10 c. white flour

Dissolve and set aside: 2 packages yeast, 1 tablespoon sugar in 1/2 cup warm water.

Add: 1/2 cup Crisco to 2 cups boiling water in large bowl.

To this add: 2/3 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon salt, 1/2 cup molasses and anise seed as well as orange rind. Also 4 cups rye flour.

Then add yeast mixture and 8-10 cups white flour. Knead well and let rise 2 hours. Shape into loaves and let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
