OKRA WITH TOMATO SAUCE
1 pkg. frozen okra
1 lb. lamb, goat, or beef
1 small onion
4-5 cloves garlic
1 tsp. dried basil leaves
2 tsp. salt, divided
1/2 tsp. black pepper powder
1/4 tsp. cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp. cardamom powder
1 small can tomato sauce
4 tbsp. corn oil
3 cups water

Boil the meat with 3 cups water, whole onion, black pepper, cinnamon, 1 tsp. salt, and cardamom, about 45-60 minutes or until meat is cooked. After the meat is done cooking, it must have 2-3 cups of water remaining in it. Pour 2 Tbsp. of the oil in a pot and fry okras on medium heat for 10 minutes.

Add the water from the meat to the okra. Let it boil for 15 minutes. Add 1 tsp. salt and tomato sauce; boil 10 more minutes.

Crush garlic cloves and sauté in 2 Tbsp. oil with the basil until light brown. Add the garlic to the okra while it's still boiling. Add meat to the okra mixture and cook for another 10 minutes.

Serve with bread or rice.
