NANCY'S TACO SALAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 pkg. Ortega taco seasoning
1 can refried beans
1 can pinto beans
2 tbsp. oil
1 jar Ortega salsa
1 1/2 pts. sour cream
1 pkg. Ranch dressing mix
2 heads lettuce
3-4 tomatoes
1 med. onion
1 (3 c.) pkg. Cheddar cheese
1 bag tortilla chips

Stir-fry beef on low heat. Drain grease. Add 1/2 package taco seasoning and 1/2 jar Ortega salsa. Set aside.

Take pinto beans and fry in oil. Add refried beans and 1/2 jar salsa. Cook 10 minutes. Set aside - cool.

Mix sour cream and Ranch mix; set aside.

Chop all vegetables and toss. Fold in sour cream mixture, beef and 2 cups cheese in a large bowl. Pour into a large pan and spread out evenly. Take bean mixture and spread on top of salad. Make sure that beans are cool before putting on salad. Sprinkle 1 cup cheese on top of beans. Crush tortilla chips and sprinkle on top just before serving. Not sooner, they may get soggy.
