“MODERN FUDGE” IS IN:

MODERN FUDGE 
3 (1 oz. ea.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
4 tbsp (1/2 stick) butter
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup instant non-fat dry milk
1/2 cup light or dark corn syrup (Karo)
1 tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Melt chocolate and butter in top of 2-quart double boiler over hot water.

Sift together sugar and dry milk.

Stir syrup, water and vanilla into chocolate mixture. Stir in sugar milk mixture in two additions. Continue stirring until mixture is well blended and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in nuts.

Turn into buttered 8x8x2-inch pan. Cool; cut into squares.

Makes 1 3/4 pounds.
